Connect Gmail to Claude

Follow these 4 easy steps — no tech experience needed! We'll go nice and slow.

Open Claude in your browser

First, we need to go to Claude's website. Don't worry — it's just like visiting any other website!

Look at the address bar at the very top of your browser. Click on it and type:

claude.ai

Then press the Enter key on your keyboard.

💡 Tip: If you're already on Claude.ai — great, you're already there! Just keep this tab open and come back after each step.

Find the Tools button

Once you're on Claude, look at the bottom of the chat box for a small icon.

Look near the bottom left of the message box. You'll see a small icon — it might look like a plug 🔌 or have a + symbol.

Give it a click!

💡 Can't find it? Look for a small icon row beneath the text input area. If you see a menu pop up, you're in the right place!

Turn on Gmail

A menu appeared! Now find Gmail in the list and switch it on.

Look for "Gmail" in the list.

Click on it or flip the toggle switch so it turns green ✅.

That means it's ON!

💡 Don't see Gmail? Look for "Add tools" or "Integrations" — Gmail might be hiding in there!

Sign in to your Google account

Claude will ask you to sign into Google so it can read your emails. This is safe — Claude can only read, not send or delete anything.

A Google sign-in window will pop up.

Type in your Gmail address
Then type your password.

Click "Allow" when Google asks if Claude can access your email.

💡 Is this safe? Yes! Claude only gets read-only access. It cannot send emails, delete anything, or share your information. You can remove access any time.

You did it!

Gmail is now connected to Claude. You're officially a tech wizard!

Now go back to Claude and type:

"Check my email and summarize it. Highlight any bills or payments due."

Claude will do the rest for you!
